There’s this fictitious story of two men who had Faith living with them. One of these men would wake up daily feeding his Faith while the other would only greet his Faith without feeding it. Both men were confronted with a battle that required the help of Faith. As you can guess, the first man had a robust Faith, strong enough to help while the other couldn’t summon his weak and starved Faith. He lost out in the battle.

Friend, understand that you are a feeder by destiny. Your mouth, actions, habits and lifestyle are feeding something. What you feed is what grows in you. You must ensure that you are not feeding what you should be starving and starving what you should be feeding. Knowing what to feed or starve is one of the marks of maturity (1 Corinthians 3:3).

There are tendencies in everyone waiting to be fed or starved. When you “suddenly” realize that you are behaving in a certain way contrary to expectations, know that you have allowed a negative tendency to grow and be unleashed. “There is a kid in every man as well as a king.” Who you feed is who would show.

Samson went through Timnath, Gaza, Sorek and other developed cities in those days, feeding his lust (Judges 14:1, 16:1,4). There were high rise buildings in those places that could stir up the creativity in Samson if he had fed it, but he was busy feeding his immoral tendencies as he walked around those places. Samson kept feeding his lust until he met with Delilah (Judges 16:4-24).

What are you feeding in you? What you feed is what grows and shows in your life. You are either feeding your faith or your fear. Learn to feed your faith and starve your fear if you hope to fulfil destiny (Romans 10:17). Why are you afraid lately? Could it be that you have been feeding your fears, listening to stuff that bring out fears in you rather than build your faith (Isaiah 8:12-13)?

You cannot be feeding the wrong things and expect to get the right results. When you engage in conversations that feed your greed rather than develop contentment in you, there is no way you would live a life of peace and rest (1 Corinthians 15:33, Hebrews 13:5-6). What you hear and what you speak are feeding or starving something in you (Proverbs 10:21). This new year, feed the right things. You will succeed!
