There was a story of a young boy who was at the bus stop waiting for the bus that would convey him to his destination. An old man saw him standing on the wrong location where the bus won’t stop. He told the boy, “don’t stand there, the bus won’t stop there, come to this side so you won’t miss the bus.” The boy kept refusing the old man’s correction.

When the bus finally arrived, the old man was surprised to see that the bus stopped exactly where the young boy was. The boy smiled at the old man and made his way in. The old man later asked him, “why were you so certain about where the bus would stop?” He responded; “My father is the bus driver, he told me this morning where he would stop.”

Friend, the effectiveness of your faith comes from the instructions of wisdom. You cannot claim that you are walking in faith if there is no word you are standing on. That word becomes the foundation of your faith. For Abraham, it was the word of promise; “so shall your seed be…” that he was standing on so he staggered not at the promise of God (Romans 4:18-20).

For Jesus, it was the joy that was set before Him that strengthened and stabilised Him as He went through all (Hebrews 12:2). He was to inherit a name that is above every other name (Philippians 2:5-10). He was to become the first born among many brethren as He brings many sons unto glory (Hebrews 2:8-10).

For Moses, it was that God had made him a god unto Pharaoh (Exodus 7:1). He was going to stand before Pharaoh as one who had seen the invisible. This was why he could do the impossible (Hebrews 11:27). For Simeon, it was revealed to him that he would not see death until he had seen the Messiah (Luke 2:25-30). This was why he knew he could not die anyhow.

When you understand that the foundation of faith is the word of prophecy given to you that becomes an instruction of wisdom, you would stake your life for the word. You would do all you can to lay hold on it. You would stand upon your watch in prayers, word and worship to see what God would say to you and what you would answer when life throws questions at you (Habakkuk 2:1-3).

Let your faith be founded on the infallible word of God so it can produce results. Find out the mind of God concerning every area of your life. Locate relevant scriptures, stand in worship and prayers for specific rhema word (Luke 4:4). Listen to the instructions of wisdom and let God direct your paths through them (Ecclesiastes 10:10, Proverbs 3:5-6). You will succeed!
