I have noticed a trend in life; both in the secular and spiritual; those who are busy are the people who are loaded with more work. Life and people seem to bypass idle or irresponsible people to give more work to those whose hands are already full. That is the burden of the faithful.

Friend, the burden of the faithful is more responsibility. The more faithful you are to God and people, the more the responsibility that can be committed into your hands. By faithfulness I mean, constancy, commitment, loyalty, dependability, diligence etc (1 Corinthians 15:58). When God finds such virtues in a man, He commits to that man.

God does not bypass the responsible for divine communication and for divine choice. One of your goals in life should be to be the man that God can depend on, the man that God can commit to. Abraham was that kind of man, God could not bypass him for divine communication (Genesis 18:17-19). David was also that man, God could not bypass him for divine choice (1 Samuel 16:1).

Apostle Paul told Timothy to, “…commit to faithful men, who would be able…” (2 Timothy 2:2). That is the order in kingdom selection; God’s priority is faithful men who would be able, not able men who would be faithful. Faithfulness comes before ability; when God finds a faithful (or available) man, He supplies ability to that man.

Quite a lot of people are bothered about the faithfulness of God while downplaying on their own faithfulness. They have forgotten that God remains faithful, and He commits to people that He finds faithful (2 Samuel 22:26-27, 1 Corinthians 4:2, 2 Timothy 2:13). Perhaps, you have not been enjoying divine commitment as you should because you are lacking in faithfulness. God cannot be mocked (Galatians 6:7).

As you go into today, I want you to scale up your faithfulness to God and life generally. Let God commit to you by your increase of commitment to Him. Let God supply you ability as He sees your availability. Be a faithful man in your family and community. Be a faithful member of your local Church. Be faithful at your work place. Be committed to kingdom advancement with your time, talents and treasures. May you be that man or woman that God can depend on. Amen!
