“The sun comes out from his home like a bridegroom. He is very happy to run fast, like a very strong man” (Psalms 19:5 ESV).

You need to stay motivated. Life will deliver to you to the extent that you are motivated about life. I know the 1st half of the year was perhaps challenging and demotivating. But you have got to put the past behind you and focus on the future with high energy and motivation. There are lots of stuff that God has packaged into the 2nd half of this year that you have got to be excited about.

Your excitement shows to God that you are interested. Until the word of God turns you on it cannot turn your situation around. Your response to God’s word must be that of excitement and rejoicing. While understanding is the foundation of getting the juice out of God’s word, motivation is the energy you need to step into what the word has to offer. This is why the Psalmist said; “I rejoice at your word as one who has found great spoil…”(Psalms 119:162).

The Bible is a book of motivation. God is the greatest motivator of all time. You cannot truly hear God and be down or dull. One of the proofs that you are hearing the devil or some unsent men is that your morale is dampened. God speaks to raise our expectation, to heighten our morale, the devil does otherwise. When God saw a fearful man like Gideon, He called him a “mighty man of valour” (Judges 6:12). That is how God speaks.

God does not speak about our problem, He speaks about our possibilities. God does not tell us what we cannot do, He tells us what we can do. God does not emphasis our failure He points out our successes. God does not focus on and emphasize what we have done wrong, He emphasizes what we can do right. I believe that every New Testament minister who is truly representing God must be a “motivational speaker”.

After all, there is nothing wrong in spurring people up to success. There is nothing wrong in helping people get on their feet and become what God has ordained them to be. Whereas, we need understanding to be rooted and built up, we need motivation to take actions (2 Chronicles 20:20). One thing that motivation does is that it lights the fire that people carry in their soul. Thus, you are either a fire lighter or a fighter extinguisher.

May you be positioned all through this season as a fire lighter, a motivator, a cheer leader wherever you find yourself!
