As the year wraps us gradually, I’m always encouraged by the amazing testimonies that have been following year ends. I’ve been privileged to share in the joys of people over the years. I’ve seen God do amazing things in my life and family at a season like this. Truly, God crowns the year with His goodness (Psalms 65:11). It is not yet over.

“You crown the year with your goodness; and you paths drop fatness” (Psalms 65:11). This is your word this season. This is what God specializes in doing. When the enemy thinks he has done his worst, God brings out His joker; He causes you to laugh last. He does unto you better than at your beginnings (Ezekiel 36:11).

It is not over until you win. Listen, no matter where you are at the moment, no matter how life has dealt with you in this year, no matter what you have lost, no matter what you are currently going through; always remind yourself that it is not over yet. The table is turning in your favour. What you call the end is only a bend. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

You need to work on your attitude this season. This is not time to be down. It is not time to be moody or discouraged. It is not time to be negative. It is time to keep hopes alive. I know there are things you have faithed since the year began, they seem far fetched. Perhaps, God is reserving the best for the last part of this year for you (Job 8:7, John 2:10).

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me” (Micah 7:8). This must be your posture this season. You need to see what God is doing, not what the devil is doing (Isaiah 43:18-19). Don’t give the devil chance to rejoice over you. He wants you to agree that the year would end badly. God wants you to keep hopes alive.

There are no hopeless situations, there are only people who are hopeless about situations. Like David, I want you to go into today and this season believing that you would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalms 27:13). Go back to what God told you when the year began. Gain the right perspective as you go back to worship and intimacy. Remember, it is not over until you win!
