One of the things I consciously say to my children every time is, “Daddy Loves You!” No matter what they do or do not do, I always assured them of my love. I am never tired of saying it and they are never tired of hearing it. I want them to be secure in their father’s love as they face life.

Friend, you need to be secure in your Father’s love as you face life. When you are secure in God’s love, it brings, wholeness, confidence and strength. In this season of love, God is affirming His love for you today. He wants you to face life with the consciousness of His love. This is how you can safely receive and pass (God’s) love unto others.

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). This was the unequivocal statement that began the life and ministry of Jesus. No wonder He was secure all through His life and ministry on earth. Nobody could talk Him out of God’s love; not even the stuff He went through on the way to the cross (John 3:35, 5:20, 17:23)!

God loves you not because you are loveable but because He is a loving Father; God is love personified (1 John 4:8). God chose to love you in spite of you or what you do. Jesus had not done any single miracle or work before God’s love was expressed to Him. God’s love for you in Christ is Agape, unconditional love, and nothing can ever separate you from that love (Romans 8:35-39).

As you seek and express love this season, you need to understand where and how it all starts. It starts with receiving God’s love; you cannot give what you don’t have. John the beloved was famously called “the Apostle of love” because he was secure in the love of Jesus (John 13:23, 1 John 4:7). Stop looking for love and acceptance in the wrong places. There is an emptiness in every man that only the love of God can fill (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP).

The Samaritan woman, in John 4, had dated five (5) men looking for love. Until she met the Man, Jesus, she was not satisfied (John 4:15-18, 28-29). Adam was alone but not lonely (Genesis 2:18, 3:8). Nothing else can cure loneliness but God. Marriage, change of location, hopping from one relationship to another etc., would all amount to efforts in futility unless you are first secure in God’s love.
